The toddler program is designed for children two years through three years. Toddlerhood is a critical time when the child forms the basis of his/her personality, develops the ability to solve problems on his/her own, and establishes basic trust in self and the world. Our environment provides opportunities for learning cause and effect relationships about the real world through exploration and experimentation. Care of self, large and fine motor activities, nature walks, music and books are all important components. Socially, toddlers are learning to work alongside each other in a nurturing environment that encourages concentration and independence and respects the toddler’s curious and joyful spirit.

8:30 AM to 11:45 AM (Monday - Friday)

From the time children are toilet trained (3) until they are ready for elementary school (about 6), they learn more easily and efficiently than at any other time of life. The basic areas of experience in a primary classroom are practical life, sensorial, math, language and cultural. Children work at their own pace with self-correcting materials. These didactic materials progress incrementally in difficulty, move from the concrete towards the abstract and function as additional teachers in the classroom. The children, with guidance, choose which works they will do. This "freedom within limits" fosters independence and responsibility. Respect for self, others and the environment is a guiding principle in the Montessori environment. Social development is encouraged by allowing children to interact spontaneously while respecting the rights of others.

Half-day: 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM (3 - 4 years)
Full-day: 8:30 AM to 3:15 PM (4 - 6 years)

Students build upon skills and concepts introduced in the Primary Program. Thousands of concrete materials enable the children to continue to work at their own pace in an environment that nurtures a love of learning. The Montessori Elementary curriculum provides unlimited opportunities for exploration of interdependent study areas, including mathematics, geometry, grammar, reading, writing, history, geography, earth science, zoology, botany, art, science and music. Elementary students are not only oriented toward intellectual investigation and discovery but also toward the building of community. Through constructive group activities, students learn to solve conflicts peacefully and gain valuable interpersonal and intrapersonal skills. Self-actualization blossoms and understanding deepens as students are afforded the opportunity to "teach" in a multi-age group setting.
